Being a car guy, I have more than one car. A dd, that special car, and occasionally a beater. I always dream of the perfect car combos. I try to think of 2 cars that compliment each other. One a perfect dd, and the other a special weekend car.
Old or new, expensive or cheap. What is your ideal combo?

D.D.:
265 horsepower turbocharged boxer 4 cylinder, AWD, manual, comfortable, reliable, plenty of cargo and passenger room, unassuming to look at.
Weekend car:
Classic JDM styling, lighweight, RWD, manual, no computer assists whatsoever, tons of performance upgrade potential, just obscure enough to get people to turn their heads but not be entirely sure what they're looking at.

My dream would be the exact opposite of the 914 a 61-67 Lincoln continental.
Or the batshit mid engine Porsche, 917! Because 917.

WAIT!
I wanna change my answer!
The Saab 9-2X Aero stays as my Daily, but for my weekend car, I choose...
Simpson Design Italia GTB II!
It's a kit car based off an NB Miata. Reinforced coupe shell not only integrates perfectly into the chassis, but actually improves structural rigidity and lowers weight over the stock Miata. It's about $12,000, painted, plus the cost of the donor Miata, which in my mind is a steal and a half. For $20k, you get a car that looks like something in the 6-digit range, incredibly fun to drive, cheap, reliable, and very affordable to own.
The best part? Because it uses the stock chassis and powertrain, all the mechanical aftermarket upgrades for the NB Miata are completely compatible. Brakes? Check. Suspension? Check. Engine? Check. Exhaust? Check. Supercharger kits? Check.
Can you just imagine one of these with about another $10k in upgrades? You'd have a $30k Cayman-killer that looks like a $100,000 classic collectible.

Pairs? I think I have this covered.
I actually own 2 of my favorite cars, but they're a mess. 2 MK1 Rabbitt GTI.
Other 2 are a 1999 XJ Cherokee with "stuff" and a 1998 Chevy Metro for a cheap daily driver.
Never enough time to mess around with 3 project cars, DD, & wife's equinox.

That would be a good pair. The bus is practical for camping, hauling etc though

I do love the NSX. But I'd be afraid to drive it in Northern VA, the land of a million potholes.

I live in NoVa.. And I feel your pain. Saw an NSX on Braddock just yesterday though, black with "f16 jet" plates haha

Man it's been a while since I've seen that one. I used to see the red one with the aftermarket wheels and exhaust all the time.

I've seen that at a local meet once.. But never again haha
